AD Wins BSC International Safety Award 2021

AD Construction Group Ltd. Samuel House is presented with an International Safety Award for protecting its employees from the risk of injury and ill health at work.
AD Construction Group Ltd. has won an International Safety Award with a Pass from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2020 calendar year.
AD is one of 147 organisations to win a Pass in the International Safety Awards 2021.
Now in their 63rd year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world which have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year. The awards also recognise organisations that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.
In 2021, 387 organisations won an International Safety Award. They span all sectors with significant representation from the construction, manufacturing, oil, gas and mining, and power and utility sectors. Winners were drawn from 37 countries worldwide. 85 organisations were awarded a Distinction, 155 organisations were awarded a Merit and 147 organisations achieved a Pass.
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated AD Construction Group on their success in winning an International Safety Award 2021 with a Pass:

AD’s Richard Gordon (SHEQ Director) in today’s announcement to staff said:
“This is the 11th year in succession that we have won this prestigious award. The award allows us to demonstrate our ongoing and consistent approach in striving to maintain high levels of health, safety and welfare performance.
This year the awards marking criteria was very stringent in that all submission claims had to be backed up by supporting evidence for the panel of judges to review as part of our submission.
Given the challenges of the last year, it is truly a fantastic achievement to win this award, because without your ongoing implementation, application and monitoring of our health and safety standards we could not achieve this award year on year.
So along with the British Safety Council, and on behalf of the directors at AD Construction Group I would also like to thank everyone (including package contractors) for playing your part in gaining this award.

About the International Safety Awards Scheme
The International Safety Awards are open to organisations of all types, sizes and sectors in the UK and internationally, both members of the British Safety Council and non-members, and relate to the health and safety management at a specific site or business unit.
Applicants must answer a series of online questions about their management of health and safety risks during the previous year which are assessed by a team of independent chartered health and safety professionals. If the application meets the required standard, a pass, merit or – for exceptional submissions – a distinction is awarded.
Selected high scoring winning organisations are shortlisted for additional ‘Sector Awards’ recognising outstanding sites and business units in up to 13 individual business sectors, as judged by the independent adjudicators.
The International Safety Awards scheme also features two awards to recognise exceptional individual performance of non-health and safety professionals who played a significant role keeping their work colleagues safe and healthy. These are the Health and Safety Champion of the Year Award, for personnel aged 25 or over, and the Young Health and Safety Champion of the Year Award, for personnel aged 16-24.
These allow organisations applying for an International Safety Award to nominate individual employees who have gone the extra mile to help protect the health, safety and welfare of their colleagues and others.
The winners of the Sector Awards and the Health and Safety Champion and Young Health and Safety Champion of the Year, as well as the awards for Team of the Year Award and Bravery Award, will be announced on 4 May 2021.
While there is no International Safety & Mates in Mind Awards Gala Dinner once again this year, we are making plans and look forward to welcoming you to our Gala Dinner in June 2022 to celebrate your success through such challenging times.
