The Company Policy

The purpose of the Company's policy is to affirm its commitment to the establishment and development of equal opportunities principles and practices in all areas of its operation.

In the promotion of its policy the Company will aim to meet in full the statutory obligations placed on it by the requirements of the Race Relations Act, the Sex of Discrimination Act, the Disability Act and the Codes of Practice relating to them, and any subsequent Acts which may come into force from time to time.

The Company accepts that the principle of equal opportunities is fundamental to good practice and used to full effect will ensure that maximum utilisation of the Company's potential and current resources.

Overall responsibility for the implementation of the policy lies with the Company's Board. Day to day responsibility lies with the Managing Director of the Company Management Teams. Besides, the statutory duty not to discriminate, all staff have responsibility to ensure the positive application of the policy.

The Company undertakes to communicate to all employees its intent to follow a programme of equal opportunities and to make it known in the wider community that the Company is an equal opportunities employer.

The Company will undertake regular reviews of its policies and procedures to ensure that they actively comply with the aims of its equal opportunities policy.

Aims

The overall aim of the Policy is to ensure:

  • That no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment than another on racial grounds.
  • That no applicant or employee is placed at a disadvantage by requirements or conditions which have a disproportionately adverse effect on his or her racial group which cannot be shown to be justified on other than racial grounds.
  • To ensure that effective systems and procedures are in place for making sure that the policy is working in practice.
  • That our customers receive no less favourable treatment than another on racial grounds.

Recruitment & Selection

It is the policy of the company to recruit from as wide a field of applicants as possible. To ensure we reach as many people as possible we aim to advertise vacancies in career centers and appropriate press.

Selection criteria and tests should not be set to higher levels of English language and qualifications then are needed for the job. Therefore prior to advertising a review of job description and person specification should be completed for relevance.

Responsibility

Overall responsibility for the implementation of the policy lies with the Company's Board. Day to day responsibility lies with the Managing Director of the Company Management Teams. Besides, the statutory duty not to discriminate, all staff have responsibility to ensure the positive application of the policy, which includes our customers and members of the general public who we may have dealings with during the course of delivering services. To ensure the continued relevance and effectiveness of this statement, both the content and implementation will be reviewed annually.

AD recognises that its most important single resource is the quality of its staff and we are committed to the development of this key resource. AD recognises staff development in the widest sense to include a wide variety of methodologies such as personal coaching, site based secondment & course based learning.
