Solar Energy

There are two different types of solar energy systems – one to produce hot water and one to produce electric energy.

Solar - Hot water Requirements:

  • A south, east, or west facing roof, with 2mē space
  • A hot water cylinder, or solar compatible combi-boiler
  • A place to run pipes from the panel to the cylinder

The process is very simple – we will install your solar panels on the roof of your building or home, then install your hot water cylinder (if the existing one is not compatible). Then controls for your boiler are installed and your water can be heated using the power of the sun and backed up using your conventional heating system when energy levels are low.

Solar – Electric Requirements:

  • A south facing roof with 8 mē space for every kW of solar
  • Space to mount inverters and switches – (loft space is fine)

The process is also very simple – we will install your solar panels on the roof of your building or home, then install the necessary inverters and meters and cables to the fuse box. The system is then connected to your main house (which means it is on the national grid) you can then see how much energy you are collecting.

We can even install intelligent digital display meters so that you can view the energy being consumed in your home and the energy being generated by your new installations.

Many local councils now offer grants and funding for the installation of solar energy and AD is happy to help you apply for any grants available to you.
